Terms & Conditions

Please review the following terms before completing your purchase.

Nature of the Service

This service provides education, interpretation, and diagnostic strategy support related to genetic testing and complex diagnostic questions. The consultation is informational and consultative in nature.

This service:

  • Does not provide medical diagnosis or medical treatment
  • Does not replace care from licensed healthcare providers
  • Does not include ordering tests, prescribing treatments, or directing medical care

Any information provided is intended to support understanding and informed discussion with your healthcare team.

Eligibility and Intake Review

Completion of an intake form is required before this service is made available for purchase.

All intake submissions are reviewed to confirm that a consultation is appropriate and within scope. Only individuals whose intake has been approved will be invited to proceed with scheduling and payment.

If your intake is not approved, you will be notified and no payment will be collected.

Scope and Limitations of Genetic Interpretation

Genetic testing often yields uncertain, incomplete, or non-diagnostic results. Some variants cannot be definitively interpreted based on current scientific evidence, and many genetic findings may not clearly explain symptoms.

By proceeding with this service, you understand that:

  • A review may not identify a clear genetic cause
  • Variants of uncertain significance may remain uncertain
  • Some findings may have no known clinical relevance at this time
  • The absence of actionable findings does not invalidate symptoms

The purpose of this service is to provide context, interpretation, and reasoning around available information, not to guarantee answers.

Expectations and Outcomes

This service focuses on process, understanding, and diagnostic reasoning, not on achieving a specific result.

Outcomes may include:

  • Clarification of what a genetic finding does or does not mean
  • Confirmation that no clear genetic explanation is currently identifiable
  • Identification of questions or next steps to discuss with clinicians
  • Greater understanding of limitations and uncertainty

Lack of definitive findings does not constitute an incomplete service.

Payment and Scheduling

  • Payment is required in full after intake approval and prior to scheduling
  • The consultation fee includes preparation time and the consultation session
  • Scheduling instructions will be provided after payment is completed

Once a consultation has been scheduled, the fee becomes non-refundable.

If you need to reschedule, reasonable notice is required. Missed or late-canceled appointments may not be eligible for rescheduling or refund.

Satisfaction and Refund Policy

Because this service involves professional time, preparation, and interpretation, dissatisfaction with findings or outcomes does not constitute grounds for a refund.

Refunds are not based on whether a specific variant is identified, reclassified, or deemed clinically significant.

Reports and Materials

Any written summaries or materials provided as part of this service are educational resources, not medical records. These materials are provided for personal use and may be shared with healthcare providers at your discretion.

Communication

Communication may occur via email and secure video conferencing platforms. You are responsible for ensuring that contact information provided is accurate and current.

Your information will be handled confidentially and used solely in connection with services provided by Jaime M. Prout / The Connective Issues. Information will not be sold or shared with third parties outside of this service. Please visit HERE for the complete Privacy Policy.
